Description
Issued by the Central Bank of Armenia, the 1oz Noah’s Ark Silver Coin has a purity of .999 and a legal tender value of 500 Dram in the Republic of Armenia. The bullion coins are minted by Geiger Edelmetalle, a private mint in Germany. In 2016, Armenian’s Noah’s Ark Silver Coins were declared GST-exempted, as it met the strict rules and regulations to be in the Good Delivery List.
The first Armenian Noah’s Ark Silver Coins were issued in 2011, and has a consistent design on the reverse and obverse side of the bullion throughout the years.
The obverse side
The obverse side features the Armenian Coat of Arms and the lettering “Republic of Armenia” both in English and Armenian on the border. Below the Coat of Arms, specifications of the precious metals content “1oz Ag 999”, the nominal value of “500 Dram” and the year of mintage.
The reverse side
On the reverse side, a dove with an olive branch in its beak is dominantly featured, which is a signifier of the conclusion of the floods. Noah’s Ark and Mount Ararat is highlighted in the background of the motif.
